WELCOME BACK FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR!

This page is filled with resources to get you prepared for the year. We hope you are ready to rise to the occasion and help our students thrive!

GIPS Safe return to school

Read the complete plan for this fall as it relates to procedures and safety protocols due to COVID-19.

School starts

  • First day for grades K, 6 and 9 is Wednesday, August 11.
    • (Early dismissal: 2 p.m. K, 9; 2:15 p.m. for 6th grade).
  • First day with all students, grades K-12, is Thursday, August 12.
    • (Early dismissal: 2 p.m. K-5, 6-12 grade is regular dismissal).
  • Kindergarten will have no school Friday, August 13. Grades 1-5 is 2 p.m. dismissal on August 13.
  • Preschool: First day is Monday, August 16.
    • Home visits are August 10-12.

School supply lists

These items are recommended for purchase by parents/guardians. These supplies are not a requirement to attend school. Schools can provide individual classroom "wish lists" if patrons would like to donate supplies.

All schools open their doors by no later than 7:30 a.m.

Enrolling Your Child in GIPS 2021-2022

  • Follow the instructions to register your child on the GIPS website for new or returning students.
  • Once registration is complete a secretary will review your information.
  • If you wish to transfer to a different elementary or middle school, please complete the online transfer request form located on the GIPS website.
  • If you wish to option in from another district, forms can be completed at the Kneale Administration Building.
  • Once registration is processed the student will be assigned to a class. If the grade level is beyond capacity, the student will be assigned to another school.
  • Virtual enrollment is closed at this time, if you want to be on a waiting list, please call Christine Kolar at 385-5900 or email .
    • Once enrolled in Virtual School, the student must stay in virtual until the end of the trimester or semester. If the virtual student wishes to return at the trimester or semester, placement will be based on capacity of the school’s classroom. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the student can return to their neighborhood school.
