WELCOME BACK FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR!
This page is filled with resources to get you prepared for the year. We hope you are ready to rise to the occasion and help our students thrive!
SCHOOL STARTS
- First day for grades K, 6 and 9 is Monday, August 15.
- (Early dismissal: 2 p.m. for Kindergarten; 2:15 p.m. for 6th; 2 p.m. for 9th grade).
- First day with all students is Tuesday, August 16.
- (Early dismissals: 2 p.m. for K-5; 2:15 p.m. for 6-8; 2 p.m. for 9-12).
- August 17: No Kindergarten.
- Early dismissal for grades 1-12. (2 p.m. for grades 1-5; 2:15 p.m. for grades 6-8; 2 p.m. for grades 9-12).
- Preschool: First day is Wednesday, August 17.
- 1 hour early dismissal on Aug. 17: (10:20 a.m.; 2:30 p.m.).
- Home visits are August 11, 12 and 15.
- August 18 & 19: Full day for all grades. Normal dismissal.
"DRESS FOR SUCCESS" - DISTRICT DRESS CODE '22-'23
Our students deserve to be confident AND prepared. We advocate for our students to "Dress for Success". Below is a printable flyer that highlights the new, updated GIPS dress code:

SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS
These items are recommended for purchase by parents/guardians. These supplies are not a requirement to attend school. Schools can provide individual classroom "wish lists" if patrons would like to donate supplies.
CALENDAR/SCHOOL HOURS INFORMATION
All schools open their doors by no later than 7:30 a.m.
FREE & REDUCED MEALS
Over the past two years, GIPS Nutrition Services has happily served meals at no cost to all students, regardless of income. However, the federal funding required to continue feeding all students at no cost for the upcoming school year has expired.
Free and reduced meals will still be available to those who qualify. A new application must be filled out each year.- 2022-2023 Free & Reduced Applications

ENROLLING YOUR CHILD IN GIPS
- Contact your school for enrollment questions.
- Follow the instructions to register your child on the GIPS website for new or returning students.
- Once registration is complete a secretary will review your information.
- If you wish to transfer to a different elementary or middle school, please complete the online transfer request form located on the GIPS website.
- If you wish to option in from another district, forms can be completed at the Kneale Administration Building.
- Once registration is processed the student will be assigned to a class. If the grade level is beyond capacity, the student will be assigned to another school.
- Transfer requests will be honored based on availability.
- Reach out to the district office for questions on transfers.
