GIPS CFO Resigning to Lead Neighboring District

Headshot of Dr. Ken Schroeder

Dr. Ken Schroeder, GIPS Chief Financial Officer, has shared that he will be resigning from his position as of June 30th. Of course, we are sad to see him go but are grateful for the stabilizing leadership he brought to the district through times of transition.

Dr. Schroeder served as the district CFO for 2 years. Throughout his time leading the financial department of the district, Schroeder helped facilitate and update comprehensive budgeting best practices, collaborate with Buildings & Grounds on a new districtwide Master Facilities Plan, promote staff development, and so much more.

Prior to joining GIPS, Dr. Schroeder served as the Superintendent for Ravenna Public Schools. Still fond of his time and relationships built there, the opportunity to return to that same, familiar post was too good to pass up. Beginning July 1st, 2023, he will be re-assuming the role of leading Ravenna Schools.  We cannot thank Dr. Schroeder enough for his integrity and the great work he’s done on behalf of student and staff support in our district.

Schroeder shared, “I have enjoyed my time at Grand Island Public Schools.  I have appreciated the opportunity to grow as a professional and the opportunity to interact with the wonderful Grand Island Public Schools Board Members and the hard working, dedicated Grand Island Public Schools Staff Members.  Grand Island Public Schools has been a great place to work.”

As Dr. Schroeder finishes out the school year, GIPS is committed to finding the right new leader to helm the Financial Department of the district which will include a statewide and nationwide search.  We will share more about the opportunity as the process develops.

Thank you, Dr. Schroeder, for being a valuable leader at Grand Island Public Schools!
