• COMMUNICATIONS

The Communications Department works to share trusted, valuable, and timely information about the district with students, staff, families, and the community. The department is in place to assure the community — both the Grand Island Public Schools community and the broader community of Grand Island — knows our students, encourages our students, and celebrates their successes.  We seek to amplify the voices of GIPS in showcasing the valuable learning and opportunities provided throughout the district.

    The GIPS Communications Department covers:

    • District website
    • Digital communications such as social media, district e-newsletters, and mass communications
    • Photography, videography, graphic design, article writing, and podcasting
    • Building materials and resources for staff, students, and families
    • Outside media coordination
    • District leadership team and Principal support
    • Annual Report
    • Stakeholder groups
    • Internal staff communication
    • External family and community communication
    • Staff training
    • And more

To maximise the success of the Strategic Plan, it is crucial to reach our audiences through a robust communication plan. Our students and staff, parents and partners depend on the Marketing and Communications department to share opportunities, stories, and highlights from around the district and beyond.
