Printable Calendars

Absences

Please call the school at 385-5920 by 8:15 AM if your child is going to be absent for any reason. This is for your child’s safety. If we do not receive a call, we will call you.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:50 AM each morning. Students should not arrive any earlier than 7:30 AM, as there is no supervision before this time.

Morning Bell

The first bell rings at 7:55 AM, and all students should be in the gym at this time to hear morning announcements, recognitions, and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tardies

Students arriving after 8:00 AM must check-in at the office and receive a tardy pass to give to their teacher; If your child arrives after 8:30 AM they are expected to have their own lunch from home (see school lunch below).

School Lunch

At the beginning of each day, our teachers ask their students if they need a school lunch ordered for them, or if they have brought one from home. These numbers are then turned into the office and lunches are ordered from the GIPS Central Kitchen at 8:30 AM. It is crucial that we turn in an accurate number each day. If you are planning to bring a lunch from home for your child, please be sure they know, or please call the office before 8:30 AM

Dismissal

We dismiss at 2:00 PM every Wednesday, and 3:30 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Students should be picked up by 2:10 PM on Wednesdays, and by 3:40 PM on the other days.

Student Information Changes

Please call the office to report changes to your home address, home phone, cell phone, or work phone number, as well as changes to emergency contact information. It is very important that we can reach someone in the case of an emergency at school.

Starting this school year students and parents will need to check-in/out of the school using the designated computer located in our office.

Attendance

Good attendance lends itself to success in the classroom. We encourage your child to be present and on time every day! If your child will miss school due to a medical or dental appointment, please let both the teacher and the office know IN ADVANCE.

Nutrition Services

The GIPS Nutrition Services Department offers healthy meals every day to help enhance learning.

Each student will have his or her own meal account, and you can deposit money into that account. You will receive either a reminder envelope or an automated phone message if your child’s lunch account is running low. *Note: Parents have the ability to make online payments into their child’s meal account. In order to do so, you will need access to the K12 Payment Center.

Your child may qualify for free and reduced meals if your household income is within the limits on the Federal Income Guidelines. Information was mailed to each GIPS household in late July.

Parents are welcome to join their students for lunch, but the office needs to know before 8:30. If food is brought in, we politely request that you bring a healthy lunch for your child, with no POP/SODA or energy drinks.

School lunch can also be ordered for you if you let the office know by 8:30. All visitors must check-in at the office and wear a visitor’s badge

Monthly lunch menus can be found here.

However, if you would prefer a printed copy each month, please have your child stop in the school office.
