This coeducational course is a combination of academic concepts, weight training, and cardiovascular fitness activities. A variety of concepts, skills, and behaviors to help students create and monitor a personal fitness plan, including activity, sleep, nutrition, and overcoming barriers and challenges that might get in the way of progress. Students take part in activities that enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The benefits of exercise and its effect in the systems of the body are introduced. The primary objective of this course are to improve the health-related components of fitness and to introduce students to the concepts of fitness program design and application. In this course students will be advised and introduced to heart rate technology. Student’s heart rate performance will be monitored and assessed throughout the semester.
