Advanced II Honors

Grades: 9 -12

Semesters: Fall & Spring

Length: Year-long

Prerequisite:

  • Algebra I (B or better)
  • Geometry Honors

This course reviews and extends linear, absolute value, quadratic, and exponential functions. Additional functions to be studied include polynomial, rational and radical functions. Students will use the above functions to model situations, graph, and solve equations or inequalities. This includes solving equations over the complex number system, using properties of logarithms to solve exponential equations, and solving linear and non-linear systems of equations. The course includes matrix operations and solving systems of equations using matrices. Algebra II Honors is for students who are accelerated in mathematics and intend to take Calculus.
