GIPS Families,

We wanted to share a helpful reminder that we will be offering the Panorama survey for 3rd - 12th grade students beginning next week (September 6 - 23, 2022).  

The survey will be available for those students to complete once throughout the three weeks between Monday, September 6 - Friday, September 23, 2022. An online link to the survey will be shared with their student email accounts and they will be granted opportunities to participate in the optional survey without losing core instruction time. 

Panorama is a survey tool GIPS uses to help engage teachers, students, and parents.  Specifically for GIPS, we utilize the platform to ask high-level questions about involvement in school-related activities and overall experience.

We are required by the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) to administer student-and-parent surveys of our choosing aimed towards school improvement. In addition to this platform providing a fruitful way to measure student engagement at the building level, this is an effective manner we may report to state requirements while making a more meaningful impact in the social and emotional learning spaces for our students. 

Our questions do not solicit information or opinions pertaining to curriculum, testing, or state standards. 

When we measure the data, we filter it through the lenses of:

• School Climate
• Student Safety
• School Expectations from the Student Perspective
  
  

Here are a few helpful details for you and your child:

• Panorama is an optional survey.
• A resource of information, FAQs, and sample reports may be found on the district website, HERE.
• Parents or Guardians may “opt out” of their child participating in the Panorama survey by completing a “Request for Exception/Exclusion Form”, HERE. Please return the completed form to your child’s building administrator.
