Shoemaker Families,

As we prepare to kick-off another great year at Shoemaker, we wanted to let you know that student drop-off and pick-up may look a little differently the first week of school.

The City of Grand Island will be undergoing a construction project near the Shoemaker building from North Road to Engleman road on Old Potash Highway.  This likely means dropping off and picking-up your child may flow slower than usual. 

The city has assured us that access to the school will be provided at all times.  However, that may look like one lane traffic at times throughout the week.

On Tuesday (8/16), specifically, it may be easier to go around Engleman Road and enter from the west on Old Potash. 

Please plan to leave/arrive a little earlier than usual next week as you may expect some delays.

We will be sure to provide more updates as the city communicates with us regarding the construction.
