Another summer has rushed by and that puts us squarely in the path of another school year.  Here at Grand Island Public Schools we are excited to welcome students back into our buildings.  

During the summer months, many of our staff members have continued to work diligently to make sure everything is ready when students arrive.  Our custodial and maintenance staff have been cleaning and improving our facilities.  Teachers have been meeting to make sure curriculum and plans are in place and aligned with what students need to know.  Administrators have been working to hire staff and make sure that all the details for making the year run smoothly have been worked out.  

During this past week, building secretaries have been back in place and working to get questions answered and final details handled.  Our teachers have been back in the buildings getting classrooms set up.  Support staff have been working in their areas to make sure everything is in place for the return of our students.

Now we just need to get that all-important last item to fit into the picture.  The students.  

We are so excited to have our community children joining us!  When the classrooms are once more filled with the joy and energy of youth, our true purpose is realized.  Helping children grow and become prepared to take their place in the world is really what we are all about.

Thank you for entrusting the education of your children to us.  We take the responsibility of delivering the best possible education very seriously.  Working closely with you, our families and community, to ensure that every child receives a great education is what we are all about.

Building a strong partnership is the best way to assure a quality education for your children.  Let’s make sure that our shared time together with your children during this school year is the most meaningful time possible for them.  

It’s going to be an awesome 2024-25 school year.
