Grand Island Senior High - Student Wellness Center

Welcome to the Student Wellness Center

We're on a mission to improve teens' access to health services by providing comprehensive and convenient mental and physical health care. We want students to be happy and healthy and to get the most out of their education!

Students at Walnut Middle School and Grand Island Senior High, whose parents or guardians sign and return the parental permission form, can receive health care services from us. Parental consent can be withdrawn at any time.

The Student Wellness Center, established in 1997 located on Lafayette Street (east side of Senior High, next to the School Nurse and East Offices) is operated and staffed by The Physician Network, an affiliate of Saint Francis Medical Health Center.

Services Provided:

-  Preventative health services - Making sure students stay healthy
-  Immunizations
-  Acute/urgent care - Taking care of students quickly when they aren't feeling well
-  Care for chronic illness - Asthma, seizure disorders, diabetes and eating disorders
-  Laboratory tests - Throat cultures, blood draws and more to find the cause of illness
-  Prescription medications
-  Mental health services - Assessments, consultations, evaluations and treatment
-  Substance abuse services
-  Patient education - Teaching students how to take care of their health

The Student Wellness Center does not provide second opinions, deliveries or abortions, family planning, narcotics prescriptions, dental services or STD testing.

Student Rights and Responsibilities:

Students receiving health care at the Student Wellness Center have the right to dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality. Students have the responsibility to be active and informed participants in their health care. They also have the responsibility to give accurate and honest personal and health information.

Hours of Operation:

During the school year: Monday - Thursday - 7:30AM - 4:30PM (Closed for lunch)
During the summer: Tuesday - Wednesday - 7:30 -11:30AM and 12:30 - 4:30PM; Thursday - 7:30 - 11:30AM
