The Knickrehm Elementary vision:
Every Student, Every Day, a Success!
Here at Knickrehm, we are committed to providing:
* A safe, supportive, collaborative learning environment.
* Instruction to develop skills, attitudes, and traits that will prepare students to be productive members of society.
* Quality academic instruction that results in personal growth and academic achievement.

School Improvement Goal:
Increase percentage of students meeting or exceeding proficiency in reading (70%) as measured by Nebraska State Accountability assessment results and MAP growth goal reports.

One of our strategies this year is to implement Professional Learning Communityies.  Each week, teacher teams meet during plan time to discuss students' progress toward mastery of grade level content.  They might plan assessments together, analyze student results, and plan instruction.  Temas will determine which students need extra support with 1 on 1 or small group instruction based on what they are seeing in student work.  All of this is done to move students closer and closer to meeting state standards.

Addresses and Phone numbers:
It is very important that we have current addresses and phone numbers on file in case of emergencies.  Please notify the office whenever you have a change in address or phone number.:

Weather Changes and Appropriate Clothing:
With the changing weather conditions, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  We will go outside everyday for recesses unless the temperature or wind chill is below 25 degrees or if precipitation or playground conditions warrant staying inside.  Please make sure your child is prepared to be out in the cold weather.

Make sure to mark backpacks, hats, gloves, and coats with your child's name in permanent marker.  We collect dozens of clothing items that students lose throughout the year.  If they are labeled we can return them to the proper owner.
