GIPS looking for public to join Select Finance Committee

What all goes into a school budget? Why does a school district worry about the state legislature? What is TEEOSA? How do school buildings and projects get paid for?

Do you know how to answer?

To create a group of informed citizens/staff members who will have detailed knowledge about school funding in Nebraska and how it affects Grand Island Public Schools, we have created the Select Finance Committee. This community- and staff-based group dives into the above questions and more during five gatherings throughout the school year.

We want you involved. We want you to be more informed and help provide information to the community and the school board. We want you to provide opinions and suggestions on financial matters. We want you on the GIPS Select Finance Committee.

To join, email Virgil Harden at vharden@gips.org.

The five meetings are:

  • Thursday, October 4, 2018 5:30?7 p.m.: School Budget 101
