Stoltenberg hired as GISH Academy Partnership Liaison

Grand Island Public Schools has announced Nicki Stoltenberg has been hired as the Academy Partnership Liaison at Grand Island Senior High. This is a new position to assist with the Academies of Grand Island Senior High community partnerships.

"This position is crucial for the success of our students in the new model," said GIPS superintendent Dr. Tawana Grover. "Mrs. Stoltenberg will bring her great ability of working with community, business and industry leaders in Grand Island to the Academies. By cultivating these relationships and building leveraging partners, she will create opportunities for our students to gather real-world experiences tied to their school work and personal interests."

The purpose of the Academy Partnership Liaison at Grand Island Senior High is to develop partnerships and to serve as the liaison between the academy, the community, business partners and higher education institutions.

These partnerships are critical to providing authentic educational opportunities for students preparing to pursue their college and/or career choices.

"I am excited and extremely honored to be joining the Academy team at Grand Island Senior High," Stoltenberg said. "I have a true passion for the GIPS organization. My husband graduated from GIPS in 1981, my oldest son graduated from GIPS this past May and my youngest son is currently a GIPS student. I am an advocate for public education and am involved and engaged in my boys’ education."

Stoltenberg has most recently worked for the Grand Island Livestock Complex Authority as the Director of Fundraising and Initiatives. She has also held positions for the City of Grand Island and Kelly Supply Company/KDSI Internet.

She has been involved as a volunteer with GIPS since 2005 in various capacities. Stoltenberg has served as Gates Elementary PTA president, a member of the Parent Advisory Council, the Key Communicators and as the successful 2014 bond issue marketing committee chair.
