Some of our schools have fielded calls from concerned parents regarding reports of crazy clowns committing potential acts of violence in the Grand Island community. Please note this has also been a topic in regional, state and national news, and in the majority of instances has been deemed a hoax.
There have been reports locally and a handful of area teens have been cited for making terroristic threats as they wore clown masks, including one facing felony charges.
We ask you to please talk with your students about the seriousness of participating in these acts and the dangers of spreading rumors on social media.
If you or your students do see any suspicious activity - whether it involves clowns or not - or if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call your building principal or local police.
