2015 GIPS student art show on display

Artwork by GIPS art students is on display at the 2015 Hall County Student Art Show at the Bartenbach Galleries/Venue. The exhibit showcases the amazing talent of students from all of the schools in Grand Island. A reception honoring the artists will be held at the gallery on Saturday, April 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. Please make an effort to attend the reception to recognize the accomplishment of the student artists.

Traditionally, our friends at Stuhr Museum have hosted the exhibition. The museum is finishing a major renovation, so Bartenbach Galleries have once again agreed to host the show. You can view the art from April 10 to May 1.

Bartenbach Galleries/Venue is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The gallery is located at 209 North Locust Street.

Running concurrently with the Hall County Student Art Show is the "Polyhedron Project." 21 large polyhedron sculptures created by middle and high school students of the Grand Island Public Schools were installed in front of the Edith Abbott Memorial Library by students April 13. As you drive by along Second Street, you will notice the sculptures. Funding for this project was possible in part by a mini-grant from the GIPS Foundation. See photos of the project here
