Two estate planning seminars offered to public

The Grand Island Public Schools Foundation and the Northwest Educational Foundation are partnering with Horace Mann to offer two estate planning seminars to the public at the end of October.

The seminar is designed to offer information on a variety of estate planning topics.  For instance, do you have a plan for the distribution of your assets upon your death? (If you don’t, the state of Nebraska does.)  Who will attend to your medical or healthcare decisions if you are unable to do so?  Who will take care of your affairs?

Topics covered by our professional panelists include definitions of ownership, passing property to beneficiaries, wills, probate, power of attorney, incapacity issues, educational planning for minor children, charitable giving strategies, and special needs beneficiaries.

Times and locations are:

Monday, Oct. 29, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Northwest High School Board Room (enter building through door # 3 on east side of the building) 2710 N. North Road, Grand Island.

Tuesday, Oct. 30, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Challenge Center Room at the GIPS Kneale Administration Building (Door M), 123 South Webb Road, Grand Island.

The seminar is free and open to the public.
