Kitchen Manager (Trainee)

Barr Middle School

8 Hours per day (6:30 am – 2:30 pm)/10 Month Position

Essential functions include planning, ordering, organizing and directing Nutrition Services operations at Barr Middle School in accordance with district and federal policies.

Responsible for all aspects of food and supply ordering, storage, preparation, sanitation, employee management.

Must be proficient in Windows and Google applications.

Experience in an institutional or school food service program is preferred.

Wage after training is $14.59 per hour, and may be negotiable depending on experience.

Position open until filled.


Assistant Custodian

Lincoln Elementary

8 hours per day (2:00 pm-10:00 pm)/12 month position

Previous custodial experience preferred.

District paid health and dental insurance.

The wage is $13.38 per hour after the training period,(includes .34 shift differential).

Assistant Custodian

Walnut Middle School

 8 hours per day (10:00 am-6:00 pm)/12 month position

Previous custodial experience is preferred.

Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist

Kneale Administration Building

8 hours per day/12 month position

The Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist helps keep audiences informed and engaged. Communication is vital to the advancement of student achievement. All district departments need attention and assistance with communication efforts to help students thrive. The Specialist will create communication pieces and assist in storytelling from all angles to all audiences as appropriate in a variety of ways.

Essential functions:

Disseminate information to the public and school district staff
Write, produce, edit and design district marketing material, including news stories, press releases, video, photography, print and online design work, social media posts and more
Help develop marketing and communication plans for district projects
Support district leadership in communication
Attend and cover various district events, schools and activities to share with district audiences
Helps in planning for district events
Other duties as assigned
Position requirements:

Bachelor's degree in PR, communications or related field.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Graphic Design experience using Adobe publication software
Proficiency with current technology for performance of duties; including video production, photography, social media, and photography
Must have love of students, public schools and education
Creativity, collaboration skills and innovation are vital
Experience requirements:

Must have experience in media, public relations, graphic design, communications or marketing, either at collegiate or professional level.

The Skills Academy program is designed to provide support and instruction for students with Emotional/Behavior Disorders with the goal of reintegrating the student back into the general education setting.

Associates Degree is preferred.

A High School diploma or GED is required, as well as experience working with students having disabilities.

Wage will be $14.59 per hour after training period.

Family Connectedness Center Coordinator

Walnut Middle School

8 hours per day/12 month position

Walnut Middle School has received a grant from the Nebraska Department of Education to provide ELA, Math, and social emotional support to ensure all students across backgrounds and circumstances have equitable access and opportunities for success. 

This position was grant funded for the 2019-2020 school year, with additional years funding beyond that.

The wage is $17.92 per hour after the training period.

Must have bilingual (English/Spanish) experience for bilingual Paraeducators.

Wage for regular preschool paraeducator is $12.30 per hour after training and wage after training for bilingual preschool paraeducator is $13.04 per hour.   (New Wage)

The Family Liaison provides vital support services and interpretation in Arabic and/or Somali for students and families.

This position serves as a liaison between students, parents, schools, and community agencies to address educational and social-emotional needs of immigrant and refugee students and families.

Must have strong communication skills in English, Arabic and/or Somali and be able to accurately translate verbal and written communications for the district and schools as well as for staff, students and parents.

Computer skills are required.

Must be willing to participate in home visits.

The position requires flexible scheduling to work outside of school hours, when necessary.

District paid health and dental insurance.

New wage is $13.04 per hour after the training period.

Certified Interpreters for the Deaf and Substitute Interpreters

This position will work with students who are hearing impaired.

A high school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) of 4.0 or greater is preferred.

If not yet certified, willingness to work towards a 4.0 EIPA is required.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

4 hours per day (9:30 am-1:30 pm)/9 month position

Duties include: portioning and setting up for student meals, serving and cleanup.

Successful applicant must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., work quickly in a team setting and provide excellent customer service.
