Grand Island Public Schools has an ongoing need for Special Education Paraeducator Substitutes, Nutrition Services Substitutes, Custodian Substitutes and Nurse Substitutes.    


Secretary

Wasmer Elementary

8 hours per day (7:30 am – 4:00 pm)/10 month position

Previous public school secretarial experience preferred.

Accurate typing and computer skills are needed as well as effective written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational, decision making and human relations skills needed.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The wage is $12.89 per hour after the training period.

Position closes 4:30 pm November 30, 2020. 


Bilingual Paraeducator

West Lawn Elementary

8 hours per day/ 9 month position

Must have bilingual experience and be able to accurately translate verbal and written communications for students and parents.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Computer skills are preferred.

The wage is $12.30 per hour after the training period.

Position open until filled. 

 


Bilingual Paraeducators

Walnut Middle School

7.5 hours per day/9 month position

Must have bilingual experience and be able to accurately translate verbal and written communications for students and parents.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Computer skills are preferred.

The wage is $12.30 per hour after training.

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment IT Technician -Leading for Learning Department

Kneale Administration Building


8 hours per day/12 month position

The IT Technician role will support the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment(CIA) activities of the Leading for Learning department. 

This role is responsible for ensuring all staff and students have access to online instructional resources and troubleshooting technical issues and quickly remove any barriers to accessing instruction and assessment resources. 

Working with multiple information systems to ensure account A.A.A. functions, and working closely with the Information Technology department, the CIA IT Technician will coordinate systems integrations through information systems data extracts, transform, and load functions and the Clever integration portal for nearly one hundred online educational and business applications.

District paid health and dental insurance.

The wage is $16.53 per hour after the training period.

Grand Island Senior High, Barr Middle School, Jefferson & Wasmer Elementary Schools

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

Experience working with students having disabilities is desired.

An associate’s degree is preferred.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Wage after training is $13.04 per hour.

Positions open until filled. 


Classroom Paraeducators

Various Elementary/Middle Schools 

Both full-time and part-time/9 month positions

Assist teachers with instructional support as needed.

An Associates degree is preferred.

A high school diploma or GED required.

Wage after training is $10.79 per hour. 

Positions open until filled.


Crossing Guards & Crossing Guard Substitutes

Westridge Middle School & Shoemaker Elementary

Duties: Assist students before and after school with street crossing.

Times: From approx. 7:15 am until school starts and from school dismissal until the majority of the children have left the school grounds (approx. 40 minutes).

Wage would be $22.50 per day.

Positions open until filled. 


Nutrition Services Positions

NS Assistant in the Child Nutrition Center

4 hours per day (6:00 am-10:00 am)/9 month position

This position would involve making chef salads as well as cleaning and cutting produce and additional duties.

NS Assistant 

Child Nutrition Center and Westridge Middle School

7.5 hours per day (7:00 am-2:30 pm)/9 month position

Wage for NS Assistant is $10.59 per hour after training.

Certified Interpreter for the Deaf

 Schools To Be Determined

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

A Deaf Interpreter Certificate is required and experience working with students having a variety of disabilities is preferred.

High school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) of 4.0 or greater is preferred.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

Position open until filled.


LPN-School Nurse

Seedling Mile Elementary

7.5 hours per day/9 month position

A LPN License is required.

Experience working in a classroom setting, as well as with students having developmental delays is preferred.

Starting salary after training is $18.89 per hour or more depending on experience.

Position open until filled.   


Certified Interpreter for the Deaf Substitute

A Deaf Interpreter Certificate is required and experience working with students having a variety of disabilities is preferred.

High school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or 4.0 or greater is also preferred.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

Position open until filled.


Homebound Tutors

(Flexible Hours)

Will work with students K-12 in home or in school buildings.

A Nebraska teaching certificate is required. 

The wage is $18.79 per hour plus mileage.
