Head Custodian

Seedling Mile Elementary

8 hours per day (7:00 am-3:00 pm)/12 month position

Experience in all facets of custodial work, minor maintenance and grounds care is preferred.

Effective written and oral communication skills needed as well as record keeping/computer capabilities.

Visual acuity in judging work needed and completed. 

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $13.36 per hour after the training period, if new employee. 

Position closes 4:30 pm April 13, 2020.


Assistant Custodian

Grand Island Senior High

8 hours per day (3:00 pm-11:00 pm)/12 month position

Previous custodial experience is preferred.

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $12.26 per hour after the training period, includes .34 shift differential.

Position closes 4:30 pm April 13, 2020. 


Piano Accompanist

Grand Island Senior High

8 hours per day/9 month position

Accompanist experience preferred.

Wage is $17.18 per hour after the training period.

GEAR UP Administrative Assistant

Kneale Administration Building

30 hours per week (9:00 am-4:00 pm)/12 month position

Provide clerical and administrative support for the Grand Island Public Schools GEAR UP program.

This position will perform a wide variety of administrative assignments and require independent thinking and work, and a highly responsive approach to the job assignments.

Wage is $12.79 per hour after training.

Position closes 4:30 pm April 6, 2020.  


Information Technology Technician

Kneale Administration Building

GIPS is seeking a customer service oriented full time Information Technology Technician to provide exceptional customer service and technical expertise to district staff through on-site visits, inbound calls, or other electronic input such as Website, CHAT or email for the purpose of resolving issues with devices such as laptops, tablets, smart phones, and other consumer electronics.

Using various systems, applications and tools, the technician will facilitate device setup, education, and troubleshooting if a service or feature is inoperable.

The ideal candidate will have experience on multiple platforms, including Mac/PC, and be proficient at analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving problems on hardware, software, OS, applications and device compatibility.

Completion of an Associate’s Degree in technology related field and at least two years experience providing technical support is expected.

Preferred certifications include: CompTIA A+, MSFT Certification: MCSDT/MCITP, CCNP.

Starting salary begins at $16.43 per hour after training.  (Additional consideration may be given for education and experience  beyond the minimum stated above.)

Temporary Yard/Maintenance Workers

8 hours per day (7:00 am-3:30 pm) starting April 13th through approximately Mid-October.

Experience operating zero turn mowers or commercial riding mowers is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Wage is $12.52 per hour.

Speech/Language Pathology Paraprofessional

for 2020-21 School Year

8 hours per day/9 month position 

Duties: Will assist with delivery of speech/language services in various school settings with children ages 3 to 21 under the direction of a Speech/Language Pathologist.

Bachelor Degree in Communication Disorders preferred.

Wage after training is $18.79 per hour.

Technology Assistant

Grand Island Senior High

8 hours per day/12 month position

The Technology Assistant plays an integral role in assisting the building administration, and district IT staff by providing support to the technology needs of students and staff;  troubleshooting, updating and maintaining computers and related equipment; and assisting with the workload of the media center, lab and other technology based equipment at the school site.

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $11.79 per hour after the training period.

Position open until filled.

Westridge Middle School & Wasmer Elementary

8 hours per day/10 month positions

Assist teachers and students in the use of the library/media center and its materials and equipment.

Effective written and oral communication as well as human relations skills needed.

Typing and computer skills needed.

Wage is $11.79 per hour after the training period.

Positions open until filled.   


Certified Interpreter for the Deaf Substitute

A Deaf Interpreter Certificate is required and experience working with students having a variety of disabilities is preferred.

High school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or 4.0 or greater is also preferred.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

Position open until filled.


Homebound Tutors

(Flexible Hours)

Will work with students K-12 in home or in school buildings.

A Nebraska teaching certificate is required. 

The wage is $18.79 per hour plus mileage.
