Temporary Executive Assistant to the Superintendent

The Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Education is responsible for a wide variety of duties, including management of the Superintendent and Board of Education calendars and correspondence, acting as a liaison between administration and the public on a variety of issues and in a variety of ways, interfacing with district staff members and maintaining a variety of records and programs which have an impact on the smooth operation of the district as a whole. Responsible for travel arrangements for the Superintendent and Board of Education members, prepares correspondence, presentations and announcements using microsoft office and google platforms.

 Proficiency in spreadsheets and desktop publishing is required.

This position will begin in November 2019 and end March 2020.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 /hour


Nutrition Services Assistant Manager

Child Nutrition Center

8 hours per day (8:00 am-4:00 pm)/10 month position

Assists manager with planning, organizing and supervising all aspects of food service operations for our Central Kitchen.

Computer experience with Word and Excel required.

The wage after training is $12.55 per hour. 

Position closes 4:30 pm October 28, 2019.


Classroom Paraeducators

Starr Elementary

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

Assist teachers with instructional support as needed.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Wage after training is $10.69 per hour.

Positions open until filled. 


Special Education Paraeducators

Gates, Jefferson, Shoemaker and Wasmer Elementary & Barr and Walnut Middle Schools

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

Associates Degree is preferred.

A high school diploma or GED is required, as well as experience working with students having disabilities. 

Wage will be $12.94 per hour after the training period.

Assistant Custodian

Grand Island Senior High

8 hours per day (3:00 pm-11:00 pm)/12 month position

Previous custodial experience is preferred.

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $12.26 per hour after the training period, includes .34 shift differential for evening shift.

Position open until filled.


Preschool Paraeducator

Early Learning Center

8 hours per day (7:30 am-4:00 pm)/9 month position

CDA/Child Development Certification or Associates Degree is preferred as well as experience working with young children.

A high school diploma is required.

Wage after training is $11.39 per hour.

Position open until filled. 


Assistant Custodian

Westridge Middle School

8 hours per day (3:00 pm-11:00 pm)/12 month position

Previous custodial experience is preferred.

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $12.26 per hour after the training period, includes .34 shift differential for evening shift.

Position open until filled.  


Bilingual Paraeducators

Howard  & Starr Elementary Schools & Walnut Middle School

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

Must have bilingual (English/Spanish) experience and be able to accurately translate verbal and written communications for students and their parents.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Wage after training is $12.20 per hour.

Positions open until filled.


Certified Interpreter for the Deaf Substitute

A Deaf Interpreter Certificate is required and experience working with students having a variety of disabilities is preferred.

High school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or 4.0 or greater is also preferred.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

Position open until filled.


Homebound Tutors

(Flexible Hours)

Will work with students K-12 in home or in school buildings.

A Nebraska teaching certificate is required. 

The wage is $18.79 per hour plus mileage.
