Grand Island Public Schools has an ongoing need for Special Education Paraeducator Substitutes, Nutrition Services Substitutes, Custodian Substitutes and Nurse Substitutes.

Nutrition Services Assistant

Walnut Middle School

3.5 hours per day (10:30 am-2:00 pm)/9 month position

Duties include: Assisting in food prep and general kitchen duties.

Must provide excellent customer service.

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

The wage is $10.49 per hour after the training period.

Position open until filled. 


Assistant Custodian

Grand Island Senior High 

8 hours per day (3:00 pm-11:00 pm)/ 12 month position

Previous custodial experience is preferred.

District paid health and dental insurance.

Wage is $12.26 per hour after the training period, includes .34 shift differential.

Position closes 4:30 pm March 2, 2020. 


Secretary

Jefferson Elementary

8 hours per day (7:30 am-4:00 pm)/10 month position

Previous public school secretarial experience preferred.

Accurate typing and computer skills are needed as well as effective written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational, decision making and human relations skills needed.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The wage is $12.79 per hour after the training period.

Position closes 4:30 pm February 24, 2020. 


Special Education Paraeducators

Howard & Newell Elementary

7.5 hours per day/9 month positions

Associates Degree is preferred.

A high school diploma or GED is required, as well as experience working with students having disabilities.

Wage will be $12.94 per hour after the training period.

Technology Assistant

Wasmer Elementary

8 hours per day/10 month position

Assist teachers and students in the use of the library/media center and its materials and equipment.

Effective written and oral communication as well as human relations skills needed.

Typing and computer skills needed.

Wage is $11.79 per hour after the training period.

Position open until filled.

8 hours per day/10 month positions

Assist teachers and students in the use of the library/media center and its materials and equipment.

Reading Interventionist

Walnut Middle School

8 hours per day/9 month position

The reading interventionist’s role is to implement instructional strategies and interventions that
impact student learning which will allow teachers to monitor effectively and consistently analyze data, diagnose learning gaps, and implement instructional strategies and interventions that impact student learning. In conjunction with teachers and coaches, the reading interventionist will help provide the support teachers need to implement strategies that address the gaps of struggling learners.

This is a 100% grant-funded position.

Wage is $12.94 per hour or more after training depending upon degree and experience.

Position open until filled.


Math Interventionist

The math interventionist’s role is to implement instructional strategies and interventions that

A Deaf Interpreter Certificate is required and experience working with students having a variety of disabilities is preferred.

High school diploma is required.

An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or 4.0 or greater is also preferred.

Wage is contingent on level of EIPA.

Position open until filled.


Homebound Tutors

(Flexible Hours)

Will work with students K-12 in home or in school buildings.

A Nebraska teaching certificate is required. 

The wage is $18.79 per hour plus mileage.
