Middle School Education

Cultivating Confident & Resilient Learners.

Grand Island Public Schools is committed to empowering middle school students to develop their social, emotional, and academic selves in collaborative learning environments. Through the GIPS Middle School experience, students will grow to become:

  • Confident communicators who listen, write, and speak effectively.
  • Creative problem solvers who are solution focused, engage respectfully, and reflect on choices.
  • Advocates for self and others who are self-aware, articulate in thought and need, and able to identify and use strengths.
  • Resilient learners who are goal driven, connected, determined to achieve, understand self and perspectives of others.

Our Middle Schools feature 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades serving more than 2,000 students in three schools. Our three schools cover different locations across Grand Island, with the district Elementaries serving as “feeder” schools.

Each Middle School brings relevant education and extracurricular opportunities to the classroom and beyond. While each school proudly embraces its own mascot, staff and culture, common curriculum and experiences are found in each of our three Middle Schools.
