Assessments & Surveys

Empowering students to become lifelong learners is the focus of our classroom learning experiences at Grand Island Public Schools.

Part of the learning experience includes assessments for students.

Assessments are how we check student progress and how we reflect on our quality teaching. We use assessments to support learning and measure what students have learned. We use different types of assessments. Some are like quick check-ins during the learning process to help students improve along the way.  Others are to assess what a student has learned at the end of a unit or grading period.

In meeting the standards mapped out through the Every Student Success Act (ESSA) and through a balanced approach to assessments and evaluations, we are able to track, guide, and personalize learning experiences for every student.
