GIPS Media Guidelines and Brand Standards

Grand Island Public Schools is available to support news media with reporting opportunities, collaborate with community partners on joint storytelling efforts, and provide a consistent point-of-access to important information that help our schools and people be seen, represented, and understood.

To ensure consistency of support and to provide high-quality storytelling, GIPS operates within a standard protocol of Media Guidelines and Brand Standards as curated by the district Communications Team.

GIPS Communications Team responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the mission of “Every Student, Every Day, A Success!”.
  • Execute the vision and strategy for communications including all community-facing messaging, internal communications, time-sensitive communications, website, social media, and brand management. 
  • Serve as point-of-contact and coordinator of all media relations. 
  • Coordinate community partner collaboration or joint storytelling efforts to ensure communications are accurate, aligned, and cohesive.
  • Development of multimedia resources and content. 
  • Major event planning. 
  • State and federal compliance.
