The Grand Island Public Schools believes students should respect school district property and assist in its preservation for future use by others. Students may be assessed reimbursement charges for damage beyond normal wear to the materials needed in a course, for overdue school materials, or for misuse of school property. The charges shall not exceed the actual cost of the materials or equipment incurring damage.
The GIPS Board of Education will set schedules of reimbursement charges at the annual public hearing for the adoption of Student Fees policy 8820.
