Grand Island Senior High Announces Four New Islander Head Coaches

We are pleased to announce four new head coaches have been named at Grand Island Senior High.

Beginning this summer, Islander Softball, Girls Basketball, Boys Soccer, and Girls Soccer will be under the helms of talented leaders ready to lead these thriving programs and our student athletes into the future.

Scott Galusha will be moving up the ranks for GISH Softball as the new head coach after serving as a long time assistant.

Kathryn Langrehr will be taking the reins of GISH Girls Basketball after serving as an assistant coach in both volleyball and girls hoops at Senior High.

James Panowicz is poised to remain head coach for the Boys Soccer program going forward after serving as interim and an assistant coach for many years.

Bryan Ramallo, a GISH Spanish Teacher, is ready to lead Girls Soccer as he steps into the head coach role after also serving as Girls Soccer and Wrestling Coach at Walnut Middle School.

We are especially proud that each of these new coaching opportunities have been grown from within our home ranks.  As our activities and sports continue to grow we remain committed to providing opportunities for our students to learn, compete, and thrive.  Coaches Galusha, Lengrehr, Panowicz, and Ramallo are the right leaders to take these programs into their next chapters.

“We are very excited to welcome these four new head coaches to GISH!” Cindy Wells, GISH Director of Athletics & Activities, shared, “They are all eager to get their programs going this summer and we look for great things to happen for our students and school.”

Thank you, Coaches, for your commitment and leadership at Grand Island Senior High!
