How Can I Protect Myself Against COVID-19 This Holiday Season?

Thanks to your hard work and dedication, GIPS has successfully upheld its vision in the face of a pandemic and reached an important milestone on the calendar.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic will continue through the holiday season.

Additionally, if over the break you or your child is exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact your school by:

  • Phone - You may need to leave a message.
  • Email - If you have an Elementary student, you can email the school nurse. You may not receive a response until staff returns in January.

Additionally, please contact the Central District Health Department at 308-385-5175.

Students will need to quarantine for 14 days from the last contact they had with the positive person.

  • Example: If your child is exposed to a positive COVID case on Christmas Day (12/25), your child would need to quarantine from Dec. 26 through Jan. 8 and return to school on Monday, Jan. 11.

If your child displays any of these signs and symptoms please contact your doctor or the school before they return in January:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Please consider taking steps to make your holiday season as safe as possible!
