17 Barr students to compete in Hall County Spelling Bee

Every year students have the opportunity to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, one of the nation's oldest and most iconic competitions.

Barr Middle School held their school competition on December 17-19. The following students won and will attend the Hall County Spelling Bee on February 5, 2019: Karter Kirkland, Emma Rauch-Word, Nik Pavuk, Sophia Armstrong, Easton Brown, Avery Rogers, Carson Olbricht, Alexio Rivera-Meister, Max Nasr, Abbey Mattley, Keyanu Betancourt, Ashlynne Hansen, Malin Harsson, Kali Fiedler, Ayden Francis, Sheridan Gapp, Emily Rodriguez.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation’s largest and longest-running educational promotion. Since 1925, it has helped teachers introduce their students to the spelling and vocabulary words they need to succeed in life.
