Sign up for show choir, cheerleading camps

Two exciting Islander youth camps have registration deadlines this week. 

The Jr. Islander Show Choir Camp for students in grades 3-8 is Saturday, Jan. 5, and Sunday, Jan. 6. The following Saturday, Jan. 14, is the Islander Cheer Camp for students in preschool through grade 5.

Registration is due for the show choir camp on Friday, Dec. 21. Registration for the cheer camp is Thursday, Dec. 20.


The GISH show choirs would like to invite you to enjoy a weekend full of singing, dancing, friends and fun! This year's theme is "Life is Better on the Island." Members of the Islander show choirs and their director, Jeff Vyhlidal, will lead students through techniques, choreography and rehearsal for a performance during Islander Show Choir Premiere Night, Sunday, Jan. 6, in GISH Auditorium. Cost is $35 and includes lunch and a camp t-shirt.

The GISH Cheerleaders and sponsor Alicia Lechner invite students to enjoy a day of learning to cheer. The camp cost $35 and includes t-shirt, purple poms and snacks as getting cheerleading lessons. The campers will perform after the camp at noon and at halftime of the basketball game that evening.
