First Grade Car Designs

After reading the Golden Sower nominee, If I Built a Car by Chris VanDusen, the students had the opportunity to design their own car.  They used Kidspiration to plan which items they would put in their car, including a pet, a food, a sport, a toy, something from home, and anything else they chose.  Then they drew a blueprint of their car in Appleworks Drawing.  After their blueprint was done, they copied and pasted the images of those items from Kidspiration into Appleworks.

After reading the Golden Sower, Library Lion, the students discussed the emotions that the lion felt during pivotal moments of the story.  They then used Appleworks Painting to illustrate the lion feeling one of the emotions.
