Student Projects

One of the Primary Golden Sower Nominees for this school year is "I Wanna Iguana" by Karen Kaufman Orloff. It is a very fun story about a boy who desperately wants an iguana of his own. Throughout the book Alex and his mother write notes back and forth to each other pointing out the pluses and minuses of having an iguana for a pet. We asked our first through third grade students to tell us what pet they "wanna" have, but required them to find a more acceptable word to replace "wanna". These are the notes they wrote:

Mrs. Boehle's 1st Graders  "wanna"

 Ms. Schleicher's 1st Graders "wanna"

Mrs. Brown's 2nd Graders "wanna"

 Ms. Sorahan's 2nd Graders "wanna"

Mrs. Laughlin's 3rd Graders "wanna"

Mrs. Tomjack's 3rd Graders
