Starr Families,

I am excited to start another school year at Starr.

We have some new faces on our instructional team. Cami Skaggs has joined us as a kindergarten teacher, Andrea Powell as a first grade teacher, Taresa Albers as a second grade teacher, and Jeremy McFarland as our PE teacher. Please help me welcome these new instructional leaders to our Starr family.

A few reminders as we start the school year:
The school day schedule::
7:30 School Opens / Breakfast is Served
7:55 First Bell
8:00 Tardy Bell
3:05 Release Time (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday)
2:00 Wednesday early dismissal

Students are to enter the school through the gym doors. Unless students need to take something special to the classroom or they need to speak to the teacher, they should go directly to the gym to eat breakfast or have a seat with their classmates. This will open up opportunities for teachers to communicate with parents and students before school and/or continue to prepare for the day ahead.

Teachers will be standing outside when students are dismissed. I know this would seem like a great time to catch your child's teacher and visit with them; however, because the driveway is full of other vehicles also waiting to pick up children, I ask the following of each driver:

*Either quickly mention that you would like to talk to them and will plan to call when you get home, or
                     
*Park in an area that does not stop the flow of traffic and then visit with the teacher.

Again, the cars in the driveway/fire lane need to keep moving.

Finally, please be carefull when driving through our school parking lot. Our kids and their safety is very important to us.
