Nebraska's Children's Choice Literacy Award


Every School year thirty books are nominated for the Golden Sower Award. Ten are nominated in each of three categories:
Golden Sower Award
  • Primary (Kindergarten through 3rd grade)
  • Intermediate (4th grade through 6th grade)
  • Young adults  
Mrs. Favinger reads each of the the primary nominated books to the kindergarten through second grade classes. The intermediate nominated books are kept in a designated section and the older kids are encouraged to read them on their own. Then the children vote for their favorite and the Golden Sower nominee with the most votes wins the award for the year.
