Flatwater Fracas Format for 2008 Event

 

Friday:
20 total teams
4 pools – 5 teams each

Weigh-ins:                    11 am

First Round 1 pm:           Teams 1-2, 3-4 complete, 5 has bye (2 mats each pool)

Second Round 2:30 pm:    Teams 5-2, 1-3 compete, 4 has bye

Third Round 4 pm:           Teams 4-2, 5-1 compete, 3 has bye   

Supper Break from 5:30-6 pm

Fourth Round 6 pm:          Teams 4-1, 5-3, 2 has bye

Fifth round 7:30 pm:         Teams 5-4, 2-3, 1 has bye

Competition should be completed by 9 pm

Saturday
20 teams
2 – 8 team brackets (Championship and Second Bracket), and 1 pool of 4 teams

Weigh-ins:    8:30 am

First Round 10 am:            Championship Bracket Quarterfinals (4 mats)
                                     Second Bracket Quarterfinals (4 mats)
                                     Third Pool Off

Second Round 11:30 am:    Championship Bracket Semifinals (2 mats)
                                    Championship Bracket Consolation Semifinals (2 mats)
                                     Second Bracket Consolation Semifinals (2 mats)
                                     Third Pool 1st Round matches (2 mats)
                                     Four teams in Second Bracket Semifinals Off

Lunch Break 1 – 1:30 pm

Third Round 1:30 pm:        Second Bracket Semifinals (2 mats)
                                    Second Bracket 5th and 7th place matches (2 mats)
                                    Third Pool 2nd Round matches (2 mats)
                                    Championship Bracket Off

Fourth Round 3 pm:           Championship Bracket 1st, 3rd, 5th, & 7th place matches (4 mats)
                                     Second Bracket 1st & 3rd place matches (2 mats)
                                     Third Pool 3rd Round matches (2 mats)
