Senior Chase McLaren lead the Islander Boys Cross Country  Team to a 5th place finish in the NE Wesleyan Invite.  Chase placed 10th cutting 15 seconds off his time from last year.  He ran an outstanding race especially when he competed Friday at the PLV-South Invite. 

Freshmen Hailey Schmidt earned her first high school cross country medal by leading the Islander girls  to a 5th place finish by finishing 6th in a time of 16:56.

Seth Meharg, coming back from a slight injury, won the boys JV race in 18:20, a time that would have placed in the top 20 in the varsity race.

Considering that all of the runners, with the exception of Seth, ran at PLV-South on Friday, the teams competed exceptionally well.  The Islanders next meet is Friday at the Millard South Invitational.
