Reading Counts Prize Opportunity Has Everyone Testing!

The new Reading Counts Prize Opportunity fell into place this school year.  The first 15 prizes were given out on November 28th. The new prize program is actually quite simple.  It is easy enough for any student to earn a ticket to win a prize.  If a student reads 2 books at, or near their reading level and passes a test on each, they earn a ticket for a chance to win a prize.  It is that simple!  For every 2 tests passed in the month, they earn one ticket to put in the Reading Counts ticket bucket.

On the last Thursday of each month, around 15 names are drawn for prizes.  The prizes range from goody bags filled with pencils, erasers, stickers, mini notebooks, and bookmarks to brand new books.  The students were simply thrilled to receive their prize in front of the whole school.  Many of those who chose not to participate the first month are now involved in earning a ticket for a chance to win!  Just seeing classmates and friends win a prize got a lot of students motivated to participate.
