GRAND ISLAND —
Grand Island's teachers definitely do not like last school year's grading policy of assigning a minimum 50 percent score for student work.

But solid majorities favor almost every other aspect of the grading policy used last year.

Revisions to the Grand Island's grading practices were made via a grading and assessments task force that worked in cooperation with consultant Ken O'Connor.

O'Connor will be meeting today and Friday with about 40 teachers on an extended grading task force to discuss how well the policy worked last year and to consider the policy for next school year.

Grand Island's teachers were surveyed about the grading policy. A total of 193 teachers responded to the survey, which was distributed in May.  Full Story
