Knickrehm student wins Agriculture Week in Nebraska poster contest

Cornelio Jaimes, a fifth-grade student at Knickrehm Elementary School, won first place in the fifth- and sixth-grade division of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture's Agriculture Week in Nebraska poster contest.

Cristian Nava, also a fifth-grader at Knickrehm, finished third in the division. Their teacher is Diane Meyer.

Each poster illustrates the contest's theme, "Nebraska Agriculture: See Us Grow."

Winning posters will be featured in various Nebraska Department of Agriculture publications and special events. The winning posters may be viewed online at http://www.agr.state.ne.us/kids/08poster.htm.

This was the fifth year for the contest, which generated 1,152 entries from students in first through sixth grades from throughout Nebraska.
