Children who will be 5 years old by Oct. 15 are eligible to register at designated schools. If parents are uncertain which school their child will attend, they may call the Grand Island Public Schools Administration Building at 385-5900.
Parents are asked to bring to registration their child's birth certificate (from the state). The names and birthdates of all brothers and sisters, and the name and address of someone other than parents to contact in case of emergency are also required. By state law, physical examinations, vision examinations, and immunizations are required for all students entering school.
It is extremely important for parents to register their children this spring so the schools can plan for fall classes. If you cannot register on this date it is important that you contact your neighborhood school to make other arrangements.
Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the following 14 elementary schools:
* Dodge, 641 S. Oak, 385-5889
