Ben Robbins was selected for the All West-Central Academic Team's first team. He received a 35 on the ACT and a 2,120 score on the SAT. Robbins plans to study biology and geochemistry at Yale. He is ranked 15th out of 425 students in his senior class.
Sarah Kuta was named to the All West-Central Academic Team's second team. She received a 33 on the ACT and plans to major in journalism and business at Northwestern University. She is among students ranked first out of 425 students in her senior class.
Grand Island Senior High School students who received honorable mention were Broc Forbes, Suzanne Higgins, Seth Rhodes, Brigette Root, and Sharon Zach.
A group of 852 students were nominated from 244 schools in Nebraska. High school principals were asked to nominate their two highest ranked students, as well as any other student who received at least a 32 on the ACT or 2,080 or more on the SAT.
Judges selected 12 first-team members from each of three regions in the state. Nine students were selected for the 2008 All State Academic Team.
