Fourth Grade News

As our year comes to an end, we look back on many great memories.  The fourth graders will be bringing home books compiled of autobiographies from the class.  The students wrote these in class and typed them into iWeb applications.  Students will also be producing a Comic Life technology project with pictures of our Lincoln trip.

The positive thing about the year coming to an end is that there are no more assessments!  The students took their last assessment during the last week in April.  You should have received a mailing with some assessment results and other results will come in the report card mailing.

The summer reading program will be in place again this year.  Newell will be renting out Lincoln Pool for the reward this year and provide snacks.  Please encourage your child to read and participate in this program.  Students who read in the summer maintain growth that they worked so hard to achieve during the school year.  You will be receiving information about when the Newell library will be open.

Finally, we would like to thank all the parents this year for your support.  We appreciate your efforts, whether it’s checking planners, encouraging reading and math fact practice, driving on field trips, etc.  Thank you and enjoy your summer!
