The end of the school year is almost here!  There are several things that parents and guardians should know regarding their child's meal account.  

First, any postitive balance left over ar tht end of the year will automatically roll over to the next year's account balance.  Refunds will be provided by request only.  Even if your child will be attending a different GIPS school next year, the balance will remain in the account and follow the student at his or her new school.  The only exception would be if a student would transfer our of the district, such as to Northwest, Central Catholic or Heartland Lutheran.  A refund will need to be requested in writing.

If a refund is given, our general rule of thumb is that we provide a cash refund if the amount is $20.00 or less, unless the parent makes special arrangements with the cashier at the school.  Amounts of over $20.00 will be paid by check and will be meailed to households after the June School Board meeting.  

Also, NO CHARGING OF MEALS WILL BE ALLOWED IN MAY.  If your child's account is negative and you are unable to arrange for payment on the account, please make alternate arrangements, cuch as sending a lunch from home, for your child's lunch.  Sory, we will not sere a child the hot school lunch with a negative balance.  Negative balances will remain on account to the next school year.  

Due to Registration being heldin the Spring, Free and Reduced Mal Applications will be mailed to households this summer.  Please remember that A NEW FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED EVERY YEAR and plan on returning the application by mail or dropping it off at 123 S. Webb Road.

Locations:  Dodge Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Howard Elementary, Wasmer Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Knickrehm Elementary, Walnut Middle School, and Barr Middle School Children ages 1-18
