Strategic planning sessions need community input

What is important to you? What do you want for your kids?

As part of the stategic planning process, GIPS is hosting three community forum meetings for parents and the public to provide input on the direction the district moves in the future.

The three meetings will each include food and have translators available:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 8, 6-8 p.m.
Engleman Elementary, 1812 Mansfield Road, school gym
    Doors open at 5 p.m.
    Daycare and entertainment provided
Hot dogs, chips served at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria
  • Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6-8 p.m.
Walnut Middle School, 1600 N. Custer Avenue, school gym
    Doors open at 5 p.m.
    Daycare and entertainment provided
Hot dogs, chips served at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria

    Transportation available (ask your principal)
  • Thursday, Nov. 10, 7:30-9 a.m.
YWCA, 211 E. Fonner Park Road, Multipurpose Room
    Doors open at 7:15 a.m.
    Muffins served at 7:15 a.m.

Those in attendance will be asked what they find to be important and help walk through district strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Participants will also help prioritize different focus areas for GIPS to concentrate on for the future.

The district strongly encourages anyone in Grand Island to take part in this important activity. Community input is crucial to the strategic planning process, as GIPS looks to set the course for getting all of our students future ready.
