Luck Book Project Possibilities:

Verbal/Linguistic

Write a haiku about cranes, being sure to observe the format.

 

Visual/Spatial

Draw a map to show the path from your house to school.  Include important landmarks along the way.

 


Logical/Mathematical

Calculate the total distance travelled from start to end of the cranes' migration.

Naturalist 

Choose another type of crane.  Use a Venn diagram to compare and contrast at least 6 traits.

Are there other animals that mate for life?

What are humans doing to save the environment?  What effect is pollution having on the crane population? 

Musical 

Compose a song encouraging others to save the earth.

What would a crane ritual sound like put to music?  Choose a ritual and write the music for it.  Be sure to describe on paper the different parts represented in your music. 

Bodily/Kinesthetic 

Research 2 crane rituals and act them out.  In 50-75 words each, describe the importance of these rituals to the crane world.  

Intrapersonal 

Pretend you are a sandhill crane in migration.  Compose a journal entry for one spot in the US and one spot in another country, describing what you see and what you have experienced that day as you have flown. You may need to conduct some research so your information is accurate.

Interpersonal 

Interview your teacher, your principal and a friend.  Ask what they are doing or what they could do to preserve the environment.  with a friend, create a 30-45 second PSA containing information about what we can do to save the planet and why it is so important to take action now.
