Rules
Rules Student Project Possibilities:
Verbal/Linguistic
Create a series of six or more poems that reflect the feelings and emotions of the story. At least one must include the point of view of Catherine.
Create 10 or more new rules for David and explain why those rules would be important to you.
Visual/Spatial
Catherine makes Jason new words for his word book, compose your own word book and illustrate them. Find a friend to communicate with using only your word book. How does it feel to have such a limited vocabulary? Decide if you have enough words to last an entire day, if not, select more words.
Logical/Mathematical
Use a Venn Diagram to compare the life Catherine, Kristi, Jason or David.
Naturalist
Start with observation of the importance of water in the book. Develop another way that water may have been important to the story and create that chapter.
Musical
Decide how music is important to the characters in the story. Create a composition that includes lyrics that show the emotions of that character.
Write a rap about RULES- think about all the different rules that you have to live by- include them in your rap and put it to music in Garage Band.
Bodily/Kinesthetic
Stage and film an iMovie that is at least two minutes long that could be used to inform others about understanding disabilities such as autism.
Intrapersonal
Create journal entries which Catherine would have written. Include feelings and events that happen at the beginning, middle and end with added twists of how she might write in her own journal. Check out cool journals at: http://www.marissamoss.com/index.php
Interpersonal
Catherine grew as a sister and a friend in this book. Create a podcast which Catherine would share her very own rule that she would write that would cover one more thing from the book.
