Anna's Blizzard Student Project Possibilities:

Verbal/Linguistic

Compare and contrast the book to events found in your research on the Blizzard of 1888.

Examine the article in the New York Times.  Do you think the teacher in the story, based on the real-life teacher, is a hero?  Justify your answer giving examples from the story. 

Visual/Spatial

Create an illustration for  the newspaper depicting the trek from the school house to the farm using details from the book, or from articles you may find on the Blizzard of 1888.
