Fifth Grade Level Instructional Technology Standards to be Mastered
 

As a result of their participation in Instructional Technology Coursework, fifth grade students will:

Strand 1: Basic Operations and Concepts

1.1.13 Use the dock to navigate between programs
1.2.3 Keyboard at 15 words per minute (wpm) with 93% accuracy

Strand 2: Social, Ethical, and Human Issues

Strand 3: Technology Productivity Tools

3.2.2 Use advanced painting and drawing tools (e.g., text, line, shapes, eraser, brush, spray can, paint bucket,
rotate, resize, gradients)
3.2.7 Capture digital images and insert into document (e.g., pictures, scanned images)
3.3.4 Use advanced multimedia techniques (e.g., animations, new button actions, web links)
3.4.1 Develop a graphic organizer (e.g., Inspiration, storyboard) for web production
3.4.2 Create a web page using text, graphics, links

Strand 4: Communications/Collaboration

4.1.1 Access account, retrieve, compose, send, and reply to messages using class accounts
4.2.2 Participate in desktop video conferencing (e.g., iSight cameras)
4.3.3 Align graphics, text, and sound with content

Strand 5: Research

Strand 6: Problem Solving and Decision-Making

6.1.1 Determine which technology is most suited to the specific task or problem (e.g., word processor,
database, spreadsheet, multimedia tool, graphic organizer)

These standards will be expected to be mastered by students at a "successful" level.

Mastery occurs when students can demonstrate the standard at an acceptable performance standard at the time measured.
