Fourth Grade Level Instructional Technology Standards to be Mastered
As a result of their participation in Instructional Technology Coursework, fourth grade students will:
Strand 1: Basic Operations and Concepts
1.1.10 Organize files into folders
1.1.11 Use the troubleshooting process (e.g., identify problem, check obvious, note error messages, seek
assistance)
Strand 2: Social, Ethical, and Human Issues
2.2.3 Observe copyright laws and responsibilities (e.g., cite sources, obtain permission to use others' works to
refrain from plagiarism)
Strand 3: Technology Productivity Tools
3.9.1 Use hand-held digital device for data collection with classes or small groups (e.g., Proscopes, iSight
cameras, iPods, science probes for temperature, light, sound collection)
Strand 4: Communications/Collaboration
4.3.1 Format presentation using appropriate text and images (e.g., text consists of main idea, images
enhance text, sounds and transitions support text)
4.3.2 Use effective oral communication skills (e.g., speak loudly, clearly; use gestures; maintain eye contact;
use technology only as reference point)

5.2.3 Complete online search strategies by keyword to access information
5.2.5 Find relevant information in resources
5.2.6 Transfer relevant information to note format (i.e., Inspiration, graphic organizers, paraphrasing, note
cards, word processing, etc.)
Strand 6: Problem Solving and Decision-Making
6.2.1 Differentiate between fact and opinion
Mastery occurs when students can demonstrate the standard at an acceptable performance standard at the time measured.
