Senior High Level Instructional Technology Cisco 1, 2, 3, 4 Course Standards to be Mastered

 As a result of their participation in the Senior High Instructional Technology Cisco Course, students will:

Strand 1: Basic Operations and Concepts

1.1 General Computer Knowledge (Cisco 3,4)
1.1.11 Analyze network performance using ping, telnet, and traceroute, and diagnose possible problems


1.4 Networking (Cisco 3,4)
1.4.3 Identify networking equipment (e.g., routers, switches, hubs, modems)
1.4.4 Install, configure, and operate simple networks (e.g., LANS, VLANS, WANS, Wi-Fi)
1.4.5 Demonstrate appropriate care, configuration, and use of networking equipment (e.g., routers, switches,
hubs, modems)


1.5 Computer Programming Languages (Cisco 3,4)
1.5.1 Demonstrate competency in computer programming (e.g., C++, CISCO)

Strand 2: Social, Ethical, and Human Issues

Strand 3: Technology Productivity Tools

3.9 Peripheral Devices
3.9.1 Use hand-held digital device for data collection (e.g., science probes for temperature, light, sound
collection)
3.9.2 Use hand-held digital device for data collection individually or in small groups (e.g., science probes for
temperature, light, sound collection)

Strand 4: Communications/Collaboration

4.1 Email
4.1.2 Access account, retrieve, compose, send, and reply to messages using individual accounts
4.1.3 Manage E-mail messages (e.g., deleting, saving and organizing)
4.1.4 Use advanced email features (e.g., postpone, edit, forward, carbon copy, multiple recipients,
attachments)
4.1.5 Print message
4.1.6 Create an address book

Strand 5: Research

5.1 Electronic Resources
5.1.3 Demonstrate advanced online search strategies
5.1.5 Transfer relevant information to note format

Strand 6: Problem Solving and Decision-Making

6.3 Application of Research Results
6.3.2 Interpret and summarize information
6.3.3 Draw conclusion utilizing data
6.3.4 Develop product indicating results of research (e.g., simulation, report, presentation, model)

These standards will be expected to be mastered by students at a "successful" level.
Mastery occurs when students can demonstrate the standard at an acceptable performance standard at the time measured.
