As a result of their participation in Sixth Grade Instructional Technology, students will:
Strand 1: Basic Operations and Concepts
1.4.1 Identify parts of a network using correct terms (e.g., hardware, software, connectivity components)
1.4.2 Identify the differences between a LAN and a WAN
Strand 2: Social, Ethical, and Human Issues
Strand 3: Technology Productivity Tools
3.4.3 Use advanced web design techniques (e.g., animations, anchors, tables, frames, viewing
source/document/information files)
3.7.3 Use advanced graph formatting techniques (e.g., step size, 3-dimensional, color, shading, labeling)
3.7.4 Demonstrate basic spreadsheet functions (e.g., +, -, *, /, and average)
Strand 4: Communications/Collaboration
Strand 5: Research
5.2.2 Search the card catalog using strategies such as Boolean logic, +, -
5.2.4 Complete advanced online search strategies to access information (i.e., Boolean logic, +, -, ?, "", *)
5.2.7 Use word processor to take notes from electronic research
5.4.1 Cite sources using an appropriate format for grade level and/or curriculum area

6.2.2 Recognize propaganda and the presence of bias and prejudice
