Transportation Services

It is the policy of the Grand Island Public Schools to provide for the transportation of students with disabilities under the following circumstances:

  • The student is required to leave the school district for special education services;
  • The student is required to attend a facility other than what would be the normal school of attendance for the purposes of receiving special education services; or 
  • The nature of a child's handicapping condition is such that specialized transportation is required.
In addition, the district will provide for educationally related transportation for all preschool student requiring special education services.
