Buildings and Grounds

 

The Grand Island Public Schools Buildings and Grounds Department provides for the planning and implementation of facilities projects addressing the district's present and future student needs.  The supervisor of Buildings and Grounds oversees new construction management and renovation of existing sites.  The Buildings and Grounds supervisor also coordinates crisis management, directs safety, and serves as the head of the indoor air quality committee.

Buildings and Grounds staff are responsible for maintaining buildings and the grounds around buildings, operating the warehouse, providing daily deliveries to each site, and assisting with training and supervision for custodial work within the district.  Staff members also work with building administrators to provide security, planning and implementation of safety requirements for each site.
